Part 1 was my take on sneaker customizations in 2013 that stood out but had some sort of connection with another pair or outside factor that made them memorable.
For part 2 these are pairs that I believe to have stood on their own merit in 2013. After carefully going through the records of custom sneakers posted online in 2013 on this site, other sneaker sites and social media outlets of artists all over the world these are the pairs I believed to be noteworthy. Some aspects taken into consideration to shorten down a list of real incredible work from the past 12 months includes: uniqueness of the customization, overall quality, presentation, and concept.
These are presented in no chronological order or rank…Enjoy!
Nike Air Foamposite “Morphology” by Smoothtip
The galaxy print has been attempted by many, truly successful by few. Smoothtip just happens to be at the top of the pack. Instead of letting the galaxy once again be the focal design on this Foamposite he actually put some thought into expanding on the concept. Titled “Morphology” this set of Foams that began all white sees his galaxy pattern on the back third that blends into a repeated star pattern. Not a spot on the shoe was left without a detail from the liner, soles, tabs to all the logos. All that detail along with the accenting colors to the star pattern appearing to be ripped away to reveal the galaxy really set these apart from all other Nike Air Foamposite customs in 2013.
