The look of many shoe designs upon one shoe is either a love or hate thing. It was a concept started by Nike SB with their “What the Dunk” that due to limited numbers became a popular shoe. Steven Van Doren Vans OTW Slip Ons by TwoLeft Custom Shoes
Some people can just draw really well. They’ve got the whole scaled perspective thing down. When they decide to take their drawing ability from paper to sneakers the process is a bit different and the outcome is something to be proud of. Joe Ziegler of TwoLeft Custom Shoes made the transition to drawing on shoes years ago but possibly one of his coolest custom projects just finished this year. In a chance occurrence Joe changed a pair of all white canvas Vans Slip Ons to a pair commemorating the brands VP of Events, Steve Van Doren, the son of founder Paul Van Doren, for Steve’s daughter Kristy Van Doren.

A good 8+ years ago this artist with a love for sneakers had the chance many sneaker customizers and general artists for that matter, will never get. In 2005 Josh Wisdumb was commissioned by New Balance to recreate is art on the silhouette of the New Blance 574. The black and white design featuring Wisdumb’s line work released in limited numbers apart of an NB artist series pops up on eBay every once and a while.

Where was this color combo in 1995? This would of set the court on fire for the Georgetown Hoyas’ young Allen Iverson. The classic cool gray retro of the Air Jordan XI has been given a navy upgrade. The previously gray patent was refinished in the shade of blue with accents on the sockliner and tongue embroidery. The Jordan Brand team sponsors missed out on this combo for Jordan’s college rivals. With the rise of XI customs could we see that shoe in more outlandish color combos if these customs keep catching fire across the Interwebz?
Nike Roshe Run “Island Girl” Custom by Kikeroni
The “It Shoe” of summer time 2013 is undoubtedly the Nike Roshe Run. Affordable and a light weight mesh design makes it the perfect lounge shoe. With that popularlity comes a bit of attention on the custom sneaker side as we’ve seen a few already. This pair is something refreshing to see in the custom genre in general. Titled “Island Girl” customized by KIKERONI of SLHVN the simple red and white base was changed into a very attention getting pair of sneaks.
