Nike Air Force 1 Rasheed Wallace
When you say Nike Air Force 1 and modern not much comes to mind other than the former NBA player Rasheed Wallace. The power forward was known for wearing the outdated(technologically speaking) AF1 for the latter part of his career. ‘Sheed was given his own slew of PE’s complete with his own fadeway logo and supposed Zoom Air insoles.
So to enter a custom contest for the AF1’s 25th Anniversary you think lots of entries would take on that theme, right? Well out of 28 entrants only Mache picked that idea for Sole Collector’s 2006 December Issue celebrating the aforementioned 25 years of the AF1. SC originally planned only 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners but the overwhelming results made them create 3 categories with the top two in each being rewarded. These took 2nd in Painting Skills with two portraits of Wallace, his logo silhouette painted on the inside panels, and contrast stitching. As you can see Sheed got to see them in person and word is they are still in his possession.
