Air Jordan III Kobe Bryant Dunk Contest
Made in size 14, for the Black Mamba upon his favorite Jordans. The year was 2007, and these were made to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Kobe’s 1997 Dunk Contest win. To my memory these start off as one of the first customizations to alter the heel tab of an Air Jordan III or IV. Mache removed the Jumpman logo and painted in its place a gold version of Kobe’s Shozoku Nike logo. For you kids that didn’t know Kobe actually wore a P.E. AJ III during the 02-03 season. Those PE’s inspired the purple midsole of this pair while Mache upped the look adding the Laker gold to the elephant print. The mid panels each feature Kobe going for a Dunk, notably the left being Kobe’s reverse slam in the Dunk Contest.
