Falsequest: Life and Debt quilted leather Nike Blazer Hi Custom

Happy customers equals happy business. Sneaker customizer Falsequest is relatively new to the posting custom shoe work online scene but obviously not new to actually making customs. He has a mystique about him. We are pretty sure the person behind Falsequest is a male but his general location is unknown. This mystique is somewhat of a throwback to early 2000’s in the online custom shoe world where customizers really did not share details such as where they are from or personal photos. It was hard to put a face or personality behind one’s custom work, but of course that changed with the emergence of the whole social media explosion in MySpace, Facebook, YouTube and personal blogs. Falsequest has let his work do all the talking so far. Now even one of Falsequest’s customers was so happy he gave an extremely detailed explanation of the entire project. You can read it yourself HERE, but its clear Falsequest is doing at least few things correct.

The design of the custom Nike Blazer Hi is similar to one of Falsequest’s previous designs of a custom Nike Blazer low. Made with the same “decon-recon” process as all of Falsquests customs we have seen so far. This time using light gray leather with the custom quilted stitching for the majority of the upper. The customer has an affection for the “Life and Debt” track by Seattle, Washington based MC duo Blue Scholars so the back heel tabs say “Life” and “Debt” in a detailed cutout lettering over black snakeskin that accents the maroon outline black snakeskin Swooshes. Oh, do I really even have to mention the laser engraved tongue tags and custom tagged black knapsack? Falsequest is slowly becoming a “mantra” for high quality custom shoes.

JBF Customs: Glow in the Dark Custom Nike Blazer

College freshman schoolwork has been hindering the creative work of shoe customizer JBF Customs this past fall. But before you know it his school will probably follow the recent trend and highlight his entrepreneurial skills. College students winter break has been in full effect across the country for at least a few days giving JBF time to get busy in the lab. If you have been following Paint Or Thread the past year you will know simplicity is something we like, making these custom Nike Blazers JBF created through a decon-recon process are just our style. During the day they give off that “I like classic black and white vibe, but I still like to party at night.”

SBTG: Varsity Bones 3 The Thriller Custom Nike Blazer

Michael Jackson themed customs continue on. The third installment of SBTG’s Varsity Bones concept is an authentic tribute to Michael Jackson and the Thriller video. Using a Nike Blazer SBTG recreated the famous red slick leather jacket with zippers, patches, and all in shoe form. Additions to the shoes also include the Varsity Bones lace locks and removable zipper shoe lace covers. The design is nearly unrecognizable as an original Nike product as all Nike logos are not visible. That brings up an interesting question as I have always heard that Nike has a certain feeling about customs in which the Swoosh significantly altered or in this case unable to be seen. Here is more from SBTG himself:

The Thriller MV brought about an unprecedented progression in music video production. It was 14 minutes of sheer genius that set the benchmark. SBTG felt the same and decided to replicate that same desire to transcend and in honor to the man, they to…ok that iconic red jacket from the video and moulded it into this pair. You know it’s evil the evil Thriller. Don’t resist.
