In many ways, James Hayden and LeBron James shared several similarities.  Both are from the heartland of America, where hard work and dedications are valued.  Like LeBron, it was Hayden’s mother, Maureen Hayden, who guided him in his passion, in this case, for visual arts.  From his time as an elementary school student till high school, James Hayden excelled in his craft, attending as many programs as he can to further his skills.  In 2000, Hayden begin to explore the possibility of tattooing.  His success in the field made him now the go to artist in Cleveland, with a impressive client list, including LeBron James himself. will also present LeBron James with an one-of-the-kind Air Max LeBron VII, each customized by a local artist ).  The third in the series was designed by Ohio-base tattoo artist James Hayden.

With his customized edition, Hayden wanted to portray the LeBron James that the public seldom sees. An individual who is intensively focus and driven, both on and off the court.  One who love his family and dedication to his team and city, a theme that reoccurred time and time again in his tattoos and now, on this one-of-one edition of Air Max LeBron VII (7)

Nike Air Max LeBron VII Artist Series: DC Cynthia Rudzis

The Lebron World Tour 2009 by Nike has still been underway the past few weeks. Here is the latest pair designed by Washington, D.C. based artist Cynthia Rudzis. Via Freshnessmag.com

Whilst everyone can still try their luck to be one of the 123 snagging a pair of limited edition Air Max Lebron VII based on each stop of the LeBron World Tour 2009, only LeBron will be storing the limited edition Artist Series in his shoe closet.

For the DC leg of the LeBron World Tour, DC-based tattoo artist, Cynthia Rudzis is enlisted to help create the one-of-a-kind Air Max LeBron VII, as a part of the Air Max LeBron VII (7) Artist Series. Treating the white leather upper as she would approach a tattoo, Cynthia focused on the balance of positive and negative space. She stuck with a true DC relevant theme, “Justice For All” for her creation and worked it in with the art of tattooing. While both shoes feature a traditional tattoo scripted text on the toe box, only the right shoe features a full-on, true American motif of an eagle, and the other is kept clean in its original state– kind of like looking at a person with one tattoo sleeve.

On the midsoles, Rudzis 2009 marked the artist’s hand on the shoe that is gifted to LeBron at the presentation today. So far, the two artist series unveiled will be following LeBron around the world on tour and there are 8 more pairs to go. We will be sharing these unique artist series as the tour goes on and ends all the way back on the west coast in Los Angeles at the end of September. For those who are trying to get their hands on these tattooed numbers? Sorry, maybe it will appear miraculously someday on ebay.

That is definitely the case for shoe customizers, be it just to be able to create something, earn some extra money for shoes, or even meet new people. From every custom shoe made you do not know what it will bring, people are fans and obsessed with everything under the sun. So if you customize a pair of shoes on a very specific theme people that are into that theme will notice. Just take a look at these videos by Jacob Patterson and how he was able to meet video game artist Hideo Kojima with his Metal Gear Solid Nike Dunks. It has a few parts but entirely worth the watch.

PimpMyKicks.com: The Joker Nike Air Force 1 ROUND 2

Back in April we had a post about one of the better Joker custom sneakers made by PimpMyKicks.com. In case you were wondering I’ve uncovered a bit information about the artist. Going by JRow of “Born2Shine” customs and PimpMyKicks.com from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania he has created another Joker Nike Air Force 1 mid custom. Slightly toned down but still intense. The first pair had a few versions of the Joker’s image but this pair is directed more towards the Dark Knight Heath Ledger Joker of last summer. Using a palette of Joker inspired colors: purple, red, yellow, turquoise and orange JRow added details such as playing cards suits, the “hahahahah”, and “Why so serious?” in blood red. This time JRow even had fellow artist Malcolm Majiq Hamer make a matching pair of heels, cause girls like Dark Knight too.
