SN Customs: Nike Air Max 90 Andy Warhol Marylin Monroe Custom Shoes

Back in the 1960’s artist Andy Warhol created numerous screen prints of photographs of celebrities. The most popular was undoubtedly of Marylin Monroe that he made shortly after her death. Warhol printed numerous color combinations and the imagery was forever placed in iconic pop art standing to later be reused and “inspiring” to many other artists. SN Customs used the slew of colors as well as any artist rendition of the Marylin Monroe piece I have ever seen on this pair of Nike Air Max 90s.

Twitch – Wu-Tang Killa Beez Terminator High

ISS Custom Sneaker Competition 2008 Winner, Twitch Customs, recently finished these Wu Tang inspired Nike Terminators. Going with the “Killa Beez” theme Twitch definitely killed these. Adding a honeycomb pattern on the toes, a detailed white on black bee on each lateral side and the Wu Tang logos on the toes and heels to finish it off. The sole is even a perfect color for the honey. Dope!

Nike Air Max LeBron VII Artist Series: Paris Wu Yue & Stephane Ashpool BEHIND THE SCENES

When I posted up the finished product of the Paris Lebron VII Nike Air Max basketball shoes  by Wu Yue and Stephane Ashpool a few days ago they left a few unanswered questions about their creation process. Pictorial evidence and a bit of research shows they likely were made with a sort of “velvet flocking” or “velvet flock”, which is about the same concept as putting glitter on shoes, that was sprayed or somehow put on the shoe after they were covered with some sort of adhesive. Or maybe not, either way they are extremely dope. Thanks to Maestro Knows for the behind the scenes photos.
