Air Jordan V Toro Bull Snake by JBF and Mache

Last year two customizers, arguably the top in their respective customizing genres, came together to combine some reconstruction with painting. That idea brought together two different models as an Air Jordan V custom inspired by an Air Max 1. This year the inspiration is of the same model but a step up in the material choice. A customer order brought together pieces of inspiration from the Air Jordan V Toro Bravo pack from 2009.

To start an Air Jordan V retro in the White/Black/Fire Red colorway had its upper completely reconstructed by JBF in red python skin. Even the tongues were reconstructed but the iconic reflective 3m Scotchlite was made visible with a laser cut out Jumpman by @absolelute. Next the eyelets and clear netting were blacked out by Mache. The final addition tying them into the Toro Bravo was now painted upon the midsole whose shark teeth were given red tips painted to look like wood paneling from the original double box packaging you can see in the last photo.

Lucky for this customer these will likely forever be a 1 of 1 design but if you have an idea for a combo reconstruciton and painted custom you can reach these two artists at their respective sites: JBFcustoms.com and MacheCustoms.com
