Today a clip of the soon to be released documentary, “Air Force 1: Anatomy of a Legend”, featuring the iconic Nike Air Force 1 basketball sneaker and its 29 year history. Of course shoe customizing plays an important part in those 3 decades as the AF1 is easily the most customized and painted shoe of all time. To speak on Air Force 1 customization hip hop and basketball legend Bobbito Garcia and shoe customizer Andre Trenier have a spot at the 0:50 second mark of the 2 minute video. One appears to be a clip Bobbito painting a Texas burnt orange colorway that he referenced in his sneaker book “Where’d You Get Those”. Quite possibly the oldest known shoe customizing on film? Looks as though it was just made to look “old”…its an ’07 AF1, painted the same process that Bobbito mentioned in his book “Where’d You Get Those?”
