If you asked the average person on the streets they probably wouldn’t know Nike’s best selling sneaker or would they? If they took into consideration what their dad wears or even just looked at that street sidewalk they’d probably be familiar with or see the look of the Nike Air Monarch. Said to be the most sold Nike kicks, the Air Monarch got an Air Max sole upgrade courtesy of Dank & Co.
Taking Nike classics from two time periods (lol), Jake of Dank & Co. split apart a Nike Air Max 90 and the Nike Air Monarch. Using the shoe popular among dads in its basic colorway of white and navy blue, the Monarch upper was swapped to the sole of the Nike Air Max 90. A fitting navy blue midsole accent and black sole was used to keep these aligned with their original look. These went from the bulking soles to a little bit more svelt retro runner.
Do you think someone at Nike kicked themselves for not releasing an idea like this first? Or is this just plain wrong?
