Australian shoe customizer Sekure D has another solo exhibition running until June 15th. Details from Sekure D:
The year is 2322 and the robots, no longer reliant on their solar heart panels have taken over the world, exterminating all but a few humans whom are kept for research and as pets. After a century spent completing their foremost objective they are now left, bereft of meaning; a regrettable shortcoming of Artificial Intelligence. Seeking something greater ‘Codename Unknown’ and the rest of the Robotic Allegiance have turned to the daily activities of humans in conjunction with bubble mining to maintain their energy levels and fulfill their needs.
‘Robots > Humans’ is the third solo exhibition for Melbourne based artist Sekure D. The exhibition will feature custom sneakers, artwork and the world wide debut of a brand new collaboration. Sekure D’s artwork has been featured in the Victoria and Albert Museum, London, and the National Gallery of Victoria in addition to group shows in the United States, Singapore and New Zealand as well as publications such as Sneaker Freaker, Sole Collector and Acclaim. He is now returning home after a successful New Zealand solo show to make his second appearance at Hogan Gallery so be sure not to miss it.
One new custom shoe piece on display is a comic book character Spiderman and Venom inspired Nike Dunk low. A hand painted silver web pattern is layed against a black background on the toe, lace, and back heel panels with a black on silver venom print on the midpanels.
