The professional wrestling world lost one of the most recognizable figures in April of this year in that of James Brian Hellwig known as the Ultimate Warrior. In a fitting tribute FreakerSneaks took all the classic neon colors from the character’s time in the WWF and WCW in the 1980s and 1990s to a pair of Nike Air Max 90s. Starting with a mismatched use of orange and pink on the upper, laces, tongues, and Swooshes of each shoe to accent the already present neon volt eyelets, Air Max midsole and toes. Next upon a black backgrounded mudguard is the neon silhouettes of the Ultimate Warrior’s iconic face paint. Next the midsoles, and upper’s mesh get a nod to the UW’s ever-so-tanned-cliche-pro-wrestler-skin-tone. Lastly custom World Wresting Entertainment branding replaces the Nike tongue tags while an epic looking set of Ultimate Warrior face paint cutouts replace the Nike Air Max heel tabs. The ONLY thing missing are the ribbons and fringe UW was known to wear on his biceps and wrists.
