You can’t give up your first love. For many sneakerheads that first was love at first sight when they saw that air bubble on a pair of Nikes. To celebrate those feelings Nike proclaimed today March 26th as #AirMaxDay the 27th birthday of the Nike Air Max 1. Released for the occasion is the OG sail/university red/natural gray AM1 with a contemporary neon twist upon the midsole and tongue liner.
As part of the festivities in Shanghai, China Mr and Mrs SBTG picked up the brushes for the first time in a while for a pair of custom sneakers. They gave the release a midsole makeover going from volt to a green and black leopard print. Some gold SBTG logo work on the lateral toe section finishes them off. Limited to three pairs these were made as prizes for the event at the Huaihai Lu Nike store.
