After years grinding, the name Macklemore is only getting a bit more familiar by the day for fans of hip hop and music in general. The Seattle, Washington based rapper recently released his second full length album and debut with dj/producer Ryan Lewis titled “The Heist” that made a mark reaching #1 album on iTunes and debuting at #2 on the Billboard 200 album chart. What makes that more special is so far the two have accomplished those feats without being on a major label, choosing to stay independent having control of their own music and careers with an emphasis on DIY. It’s no surprise that that style could inspire someone like a shoe customizer who is the definition of do it yourselfer.
Seattle’s recognizable skyline, Space Needle included, makes an appearance on this custom by Laptop Lasane. The Air Max 90 custom takes on the colorway of the Seattle Mariners influenced by the duos song titled “My Oh My” about the M’s 1990s greatness and late play by play announcer Dave Neihaus (Who wasn’t a Griffey fan? poor kids these days have no idea. 90s sports FTW!) Lastly in the fashion of his logo, Macklemore is painted along the Mariners turquoise mudguards. DIY Life!
