Maroon NYC releases their first custom sneaker run titled Exhibition 1. After making a name for himself on Instagram with Photoshopped sneaker renderings, designer Chris Frangoulis has chosen to bring one to life on his own terms.
With the help of sneaker customizer Jake Danklefs of Dank Customs the two reworked an all white Nike Air Max 1. The colorway makes obvious sense as a call to the brand name Maroon NYC. The overall aesthetic is inspired by Americana sport and it’s influence on streetwear style. A look perfectly achieved with the Nike Swooshes being flipped into chenille patches a la the classic all-American letterman jacket style. Slight maroon accents and a mudguard logo finish off the design.
