Mache Teams Up With Reebok Classic for New Store Launch Event

New York-based sneakerheads were blessed with a rare opportunity this past weekend thanks to the good people over at Reebok Classic.

As a part of the brand’s launch of the new Zoku Runner model and to celebrate the opening of a new location in Manhattan, Reebok Classic invited sneaker customizer Mache to do an in-store custom painting session that lasted from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m..

Any customer who visited the Union Square store and purchased a pair of Reebok Classic leather products on March 4 could stop by Mache’s table to have the artist customize their pair, free of charge.

Armed with a fresh batch of supplies and live tunes provided by world-class producer and DJ Statik Selektah, Mache spent around 15-20 minutes on each pair. He drew names and cityscapes, a portrait of Biggie, and the cover art from the GZA album “Liquid Swords” on the toe boxes of Classic Leathers, Club C 85s, and other Reebok models.

Frank the Butcher, Laura Styles, and a few other notable Reebok fans were also in attendance at the special event.

Don’t worry if you missed out – Mache will be back at the Union Square Reebok Classics store this Saturday (March 11) to do it all again.
