If 2016 and 2017 had most popular theme in custom sneakers, streetwear branded works would be the top of the list. One of the top streetwear brands translated into customizations if that of OFF-White by Virgil Abloh. The efforts of Abloh have already paid off in his own right with actual OFF-White themed releases by Nike for 2017. But in a world that thrives off of creating what you can’t have, sneaker customizers have taken the popularity of the brand to give the world concepts of what many an OFF-White collaboration could have looked like.
Sneaker Atelier has gone a detailed route on this pair of Adidas OFF-White custom shoes. Typically stripes, branding and logos alone were what we saw with the theme. But these guys took inspiration from a rose floral graphic shirt to an adidas Ultra Boost. One of the most popular sneakers of the moment was airbrushed with a detailed take on a red rose full of petals. Extra details of the OFF-White logo grace the tongue tag and medial heel cap.
In a world that sees’s streetwear going the route of “high-fashion”, such as OFF-White, is there any chance these type of inspired customs slow down? Highly doubtful as people are going more and more for what they’d want a real collaboration to look like, while not really being able to afford the high priced, high fashion pieces.
