The Great Wave Off Kanagawa makes its way to the Nike VaporMax on these customs by Ceeze. The Great Wave Off Kanagawa custom shoes is a theme well versed in customizing despite it not being the best look for every shoe. That is not the case in this pair that recreated the work of Katsushika Hokusai from the 1830s. Looking at the gray Nike Flyknit contrasting against an eye-catching air bubble sole caught the eye of Ceeze to recreate the Japanese ukiyo-e woodblock print’s famous look.
The look of the print was recreated starting in the back hand painting the outline and later details of the Great Wave as its known to be but continuing waves were added to mimic the waters flow to the forefoot. Instead of wrapping the graphic completely around the heel Ceeze fit the look of the water print details into the Swooshes. Lastly, the clear sole stuck out so they were dyed a blue tint for a more completed look.
