The story of the NFL’s Super Bowl 51 between the Atlanta Falcons and New England Patriots was a tale of two totally different halves. With Atlanta building a lead of 28 to 3 at one point, surely most eyes in the state of Georgia and those that despise the Patriots success were overjoyed with what was seemingly about to happen. But to count out Tom Brady, even at 39 years of age wasn’t smart, as he lead the Patriots comeback against a disappearing Falcons defense the latter half of the game. The entire time our eyes were focused on who stepped onto the field with a pair of customized football cleats to top off customization’s mainstream breakout in the NFL this season.
From what we could see of the many cleats shown off on social media this Super Bowl weekend, just a handful of players actually laced up a customized cleat for the game. Weirdly enough though two pairs were front and center of two big plays.

Customized Nike football cleats for Jalen Collins painted by Aceestarkey. This Nike Vapor cleat tries to get power of the Darkside with toes featuring portraits of Darth Vader and Darth Maul. A nod to the Falcon’s first Super Bowl XXXIII appearance match up with that of Super Bowl LI.

Kyle Van Noy’s custom Super Bowl Nike cleats painted by DeJesusCustomFootwear. The crew at DeJesus Custom Footwear gave Van Noy’s Nikes a bit extra with his name, number, and SB LI logo with a bit of Patriot colored splatter on the toes.
