With The Brannock Show last month in Los Angeles and now a sneaker event centered around customs it is safe to say custom sneakers are here to stay. This Saturday August 10th in Washington D.C. The Custom Kings 2013 event put on by The District Group will take place pitting 3 customizers battling for a $1,000.00 prize. Check the full info and flyer below.

The Custom Kings 2013 competition consists of 3 artists, whom strive to be the best customizer in the game, competing to win a grand prize of $1,000 and the title of “Custom Kings 2013.” All artists will receive an identical pair of shoes 7 days prior to the event. This will give each artist an equal opportunity to brainstorm, prepare, and execute a design for the sneaker. Contestants will receive their shoes on the same day to ensure an equal timetable to complete their design. After the competition is over and a winner has been selected, the sneakers will then be placed on auction and the proceeds will be donated to a local charity. Although The Custom Kings competition is the main event the audience will enjoy the entertainment of a scratch DJ battle with 2 premier DJ’s, live music acts, live art exhibitions, sneaker history trivia with sneaker giveaway, and much more!
