It may be the first day of winter in NYC this Saturday but that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy the taste of sitting on the beach by having an ice cold Corona, right? Mache was commissioned for the upcoming DunkXChange + SneakerPimps event to create this Corona themed custom sneaker. The once blue and yellow Air Jordan V is kept to a colorway of the same type but with a lot more detail upon the previously white leather.
To start the Corona wordmark and crown logo are superimposed upon the mid panels. Next all that was once royal blue such as the tongues and midsoles were repainted a dark navy along with the toe panels that got a bit of light blue shading. Next the real interesting parts take place on the heel and ankle areas that Mache painted to look like that of the golden cerveza and it’s glass bottle complete with water droplets, foam, and even a slice of lime.
