Adidas D Rose 3.5 Mashup Custom by @JPCustomKicks

The basketball sneaker market seems to be a somewhat lopsided race with a look into any major sneaker outlet. Even though it might not appear to be so, there is brand variety to choose from. One of the anchors for their company is that of adidas’ endorsee Derrick Rose of the Chicago Bulls. More than likely Rose sitting out the entire season in 2012-2013 put a damper on sales of his adidas kicks. Despite that customizer JP Custom Kicks put the Rose 3.5 into the current trend of “What the”/colorway mashup styling in this recent custom.

The base used was that of the Rose 3.5 Troy colorway. JP’s additions through hand painting and airbrush work include recreating the midsole from the Year of the Snake release, the Home on the white toebox, the Away tongue, Spark upper, and laces of the Mr. Chicago release. With most customizers seemingly sticking to the brand that rhymes with bikey, is this refreshing to see or would you rather JP sticks to what is popular next time around?
