Yesterday we shared a Custom Kicks In Progress teaser of this custom shoe by Peculiar Kinetics Studios shoe customizer Jonathan Carrington. And yes, 2012 is definitely the year of the Lebron 9 custom with the thought behind this pair being one of the most thorough. Using the “Miami Nights” 9 as his base Carrington set out to create a design that makes a statement about human ideals of seduction and destruction. Here is a few words describing his thought process:
“People fall into this trap every day in one way or another it’s just apart of human nature, So I decided to transform the Miami Nights base into what you see today, a blend of warm seductive colors transitioning into an abyss of fatal endings resulting in Fatal Attraction.” -Jonathan Carrington
To start his design Carrington painted the gray Hyperfuse upper with a split design of neon orange and purple on the lateral sides along with white on the medial sides. The now neon panels were painted with graphics in black known for their seducing nature. Next to represent consequences of seduction the silhouettes of skulls were painted on the white with their bone structure, eye sockets, and teeth painted by hand. Final details of a painted neon pink Swoosh to contrast the pile of skulls and a bit of splatter on the tongue knocks this design out.
