Months in the making, somewhere around 50 different customs(I’ve lost count), 26 head to head matchups, 5 rounds, and some of the biggest names in shoe customization made up the 1st ever Clash of the Customizers. The final once again comes down to: a shoe customizer that mostly paints and a shoe customizer that mostly does “decon-recons”. Both customizers used the battle favorite Nike Dunk high as a base shoe, so they are even at that point. Yoakustoms went with a Chinese take-out inspired design with hand painted pile of noodles, meat, and veggies with a take-out box complete with the wire handles. The take-out package was topped off with greasy menu insoles and a shoebox that looks like a plastic bag. Jest3R of 3R customs made a heavenly white patent leather “decon-recon” based off the silhouette of the Nike Air Yeezys, Kanye West’s shoes, highlighted with a hot pink detailing in the liner and a small early 90’s style Nike Swoosh in elephant print. I could not pick a winner if I had too.
Both pairs along with every other pair from the Clash and more are to be on display the next couple weeks in Los Angeles, California which is kicking off this Saturday December 12th, more info on that soon.
