As one of the original Team Jordan members from 1997, Ray Allen has undoubtedly been the closest to impact the game the way Air Jordan himself likely envisioned as Jordan Brand was established. Allen built a career with two NBA Championships and set records as the the NBA’s career leader in 3 point field goal attempts made in the regular season and post season. Just this month he announced he would continue to sit out the remainder of the season as a free agent to focus on playing in 2015-2016. To celebrate Allen’s career of 18 years, Mache Customs created this pair titled “tRAYbute” for the future Hall of Famer.
The list of Allen’s player exclusive Air Jordans as a member of JB is truly unmatched. Playing for 3 teams the color schemes alone give him a heads up on any other JB member. So how do you mash all that into one? Pick a simple gold on gold. Using the base that is nicknamed for the movie Allen wore them in, these “He Got Game” Air Jordan XIII’s go a step above in the details that any Allen PE has ever before.
Mache graphically represented every significant point of Allen’s career with team logos from his college days at UCONN to his time with the Milwaukee Bucks, Seattle SuperSonics(R.I.P.), Boston Celtics and Miami Heat. Not to be left out were nods to his Olympic and All Star appearances, championships, jersey numbers, first NBA game date, career scoring average, his JB PE logo and that little number of 2973 3pt field goals made. Oh and Allen’s character’s name in the aforementioned basketball related cinematic piece.
