When you work for one of the big shoe companies customizing sneakers has to take a bit of a back seat. So was the case with this Adidas Energy Boost by Chris of C2 Customs that was started in July 2013 and just finished in January 2014. The idea of this is based off of two of Chris’ favorite releases from his employer in ’13: the base being the Energy BOOST runners and the colorway of the BAPE X UNDFTD adidas ZX5000. You can see the inspiring ZX in the background of a few photos.
C2 really outfitted the base shoe with complete makeover as it started out as the black/volt yellow “Electricity” version pictured below. From the edge of the midsole up the pair was given a whole new look to mimic the aforementioned Bathing Ape color scheme. Details of military greens, sand, and black are the foundation across the toebox, mudguard, lateral support panels, tongues, and sockliner. Next the noteable part of the ZX5000 was the BAPE camo hand painted to perfection across the mesh upper. The last detail to make the colorswap complete was the addition of red, white, and blue upon the adidas stripes.
This pair is likely a 1 of 1 but you can find more work from C2 at C2Customs.com and follow him on Instagram: @C2Customs
