“You can’t get these.” That is the only statement anyone to ever obsessively wear a pair of sneakers wants to tell EVERYONE. But these days most anyone that wants a sneaker release will get it as they are nearly all 99% attainable. So how do you out do the next man….and next and next? Get vintage or customized. To wear on this past weekend’s Hot 97 Summer Jam 2013 stage Wale reached out to Jake of JBF Customs for an upgrade to the “88” Air Jordan 3 retro. The previously white tumble leather upper was deconstructed through a careful process leaving intact the iconic elephant print. Sticking to his signature craft JBF reconstructed the 1988 silhouette replacing the entire white upper with a heavenly white genuine python skin. To break the monotonity a gray skin was used around the ankle liner. A comfy white lambskin replaces the red sockliners finished off with a conspicuously placed leather square tongue tag featuring a lasered Jumpman logo covered by JBF’s signature phrase +Incomparable+. A set of lace dubres also lasered by Absolelute feature Wale’s soon to be released third album, The Gifted.
