If you were asked what is a great base shoe to showcase a detailed painted graphic the Nike Foamposite for their uneven panels would probably be the last choice. So perhaps that makes these an even better accomplishment? Modern futuristic looking sneaker meets arguably ahead of his time musician Jimi Hendrix in this custom Foamposite titled “Purple Haze” by SmoothTip. Instead of going with one of the already purple heavy Foam base shoes like the Eggplants or Electro Purple joints SmoothTip brought the purple along to the Stealth black model.
The custom process started with the dyeing of the previously clear soles to a deep purple shade. Next the customization is all in the details starting with a flow of musical notes in white painted along the nubuck eyestay panels. Upon the Foamposite material the medial sides were given an airbrushed appearance of rising smoke while their counterparts are each graced with a painting of Hendrix in his marching band jacket doing what he did best. Last details of a graphic and embroidered patch can be seen on the direct back.
