The Black Panther is celebrated upon the Air Jordan I Hi painted by Andr3wtl. Marvel Studios first announced the idea of a Black Panther film in 2005 amongst 9 other films that would be created in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. So after 13 years in the making we expect to see some record-breaking results after weekend’s box office is totaled up.
Andr3wtl started off using the mostly black City Of Flight Air Jordan 1 from 2018. The black tumbled leather set as a perfect backdrop for the very detailed hand painted and airbrushed Black Panther imagery. The right features a close up detailed shot showing full details of the armor. While the left shoe was painted with movie poster scene of Black Panther standing on the panther statue gazing upon The Kingdom of Wakanda. A bit of blue on the medial Swooshes to match the spot on title logos recreated on the heel finish them off.
If the popularity of super-hero movie themed custom sneakers wasn’t obvious, expect a bunch more Black Panther themed custom sneakers to surface from here on out. Until then Andr3wtl has set the bar high. You can check more of his work and inquire about a commission here: Instagram.com/Andr3wtl and andr3wtl.com
