Qustom Queen: Jimi Hendrix Dunks

UK customizer Qustom Queen recently made a slick pair of Dunks for one of the UK’s R&B singers, Lemar. I must say the color combination is rather fresh with a classic gold and black against a light sky blue. The entire back heels of the Dunk lows have a classic Jimi Hendrix silhouette with big hair and a dark stare.

3R Carbon Fiber Mercurial Vapor Dunk Low

So last week we showcased the insane Dunk low by Hush Fabrications using the carbon fiber like vinyl. Funny thing is that Sole Jest3r of 3R customs came out with a very similar design though they are a full “decon-recon”. Jest3r based his design of the extremely expensive carbon fiber Nike Mercurial soccer boot. Accented with a pink and purple lenticular swoosh that really pops against an entirely black background.

NOUVEAU RICHE DOG: Shoofuni

Out of Israel, yes Israel customizing is a global phenomenom a sort of DXC but for customs took place for the first time. Here is more info from Nouveau Riche Dog:

Shoofuni is Israel’s first shoe designer event, think of a dunkxchange just with shoe designers. We had a booth, showcasing our customs and offring them for sale. I had a working station with a sewing machine and other bits and bobs. We also did a special pair of dunks@ the event, with 24 karat gold leafs and special patteren leather.

Interview with Shoe Customizer Lazy

Some shoe customizers choose to stay out of the bright lights of the Internet’s message boards and social networking sites. Instead they like to have their work speak for themselves. That must be the case with veteran customizer Lazy, well known for his intense denim customs. Or maybe it is because he has his hands in too many other important projects and Lazy is just an oxymoron for his lifestyle? Well you can decide for yourself by reading our interview with the mysterious customizer himself. Check it!

I went to art collage in San Francisco, CA for my degree in graphic design.

3.When did you start and what got you into customizing?

Black Carbon Dunk Low Pro B By Hush Fabrications

Hush Fabrications is killing it this month. First we saw the black on black Nike Blazer, now we get the black on black carbon fiber Dunk low with just a hint of purple that really makes them pop. The construction of these are insane. I believe they are not a full recon though as most of Hush’s work is recreating a “skin” like piece to cover over the original panels, but it is hard to tell on these. Full “decon-recon” or not these are a sick shoe Nike has failed to release since they started using carbon fiber, or carbon fiber imprinted vinyl(most likely what everyone uses in customs).
