A few years ago Air Jordans for some reason were looked down upon by so called “sneakerheads” if customized…times have changed. Last year Nike released a special edition Air Jordan III branded with Oregon Ducks details. Why Oregon Ducks? If you’ve been sleeping Nike’s co-owners Phil Knight and the late Bill Bowerman were a student and coach respectively at Oregon University. In fact two colorways of the Oregon Air Jordan III were released: white/green and black. Now there is a third seen in this custom Pit Crew Air Jordan III by Mache. The first two colors were raffled off to the “Pit Crew”, a group of crazy dedicated student basketball fans at Oregon. Mache flipped the concept though very much like usual Oregon who always has multiple jersey colorways in every sport. Instead of black or white uppers a deep green was painted to cover the majority of the upper to match the teams alternate road jerseys. Attention is grabbed in the green on neon green elephant print and neon Jumpman on the tongue and back heels. To finish them off the sides showcase a subtle black Oregon “O” and duck footprints on the opposite. Are you a big enough Oregon Duck fan for these?
