It is safe to say Van Monroe is the sneaker customizer of choice for movie director Spike Lee. Last month Van cooked up a Nike Air Son of Mars themed after Lee’s film “Red Hook Summer”, only a few short weeks later and Spike has got another pair. This time the film was “Bad 25” celebrating the 25th anniversary of Michael Jackson’s album, Bad.
This makes Van’s second pair of MJ themed kicks for Lee who will be wearing the custom pair for the currently held 2012 Toronto Film Festival. The Air Jordan VII was given a stritctly black, white and red colorway featuring two hand painted images of MJ on the back heels. Solid black and red was used to simplify the design on the lace and ankle panels. Lastly the inner panels were covered in a faint gray and white text made up of the albums different songs. Bad all the way around.
