For his latest customer request Surreal Styles was asked to have his go at the “Nerf” colorway concept created by Nike on the KD4 and seen recreated a few times over by customizers. What non customizers don’t know about what goes into customizing shoes can be seen in this pairs #CKIP post from yesterday: masking tape, testing colors, airbrushing, and free hand painting the accents. The work obviously paid off. What started as the varsity red/white Air Jordan VI retro took about 16 hours across 4 days for Surreal Styles to change into a combination of black fading into a pearlescent purple design on the upper. The next big changes can be seen on the midsoles with silver on black splatter, neon yellow and red details a la the Kevin Durant models. Final details of a neon strip across the heel tab and Jumpman logos can be seen on the back.
Fortunately for the customer of this pair these will stay a 1 of 1 design from Surreal Styles. But you can commission him to create your own custom sneakers via email: [email protected] or find him on Twitter and Instagram: @SurrealStyles
