SBTG worked his camo styling on that of the Asics Gel Respector. In the realm of custom sneakers, one of the toughest challenges is creating work that is all cohesive. Often times themes may be well known, so it can be hard to differentiate the look of your work from the next person. Throw in attempting to develop your own look without using other branding and you have quite the challenge. One of the few to have truly worked his own style and do so over and over is that of Singapore-based artist SBTG.
SBTG is still going strong nearly 15 years after he won the NikeTalk.com custom sneaker contest. Thousands of pairs of custom sneakers from the Sabotage camp have typically had a theme connected to camouflage and military influenced hues. That is the case once again here on these veg-tan leather Asics. A base similar to the popular Asics Gel Lyte III, these Respectors are likely one of the few if not only pairs of this model to have been customized by anyone. The light tan leather was played off of well with a set of similar prints in that of enlarged tiger camo and a wild feline print. Throw in accents of bronze on the Asics stripes, leather lace dubraes and embroidered tongue tags to complete the customization.
This exact style titled Rictus Fury is available on this Asics Gel Respector from SBTG at http://sbtgsurplus.bigcartel.com/ or you can follow him to see his latest work on Instagram: @mr_sabotage
