Day by day the impact of sneaker customizers on the makeup of the footwear industry is being recognized more and more. The latest to get some shine is Ben Smith of Brush Footwear who will be one of the guest speakers during Carnegie Mellon University’s spring 2013 installment of Sneakerology, titled Invigorate Your Sole. Established in 2008 Sneakerology is the first accredited college course dedicated to sneakers and the culture they’ve built within pop culture.
Ben Smith is known for his use of simple and clean hand painted graphics with a list of clients such as Wiz Khalifa to Mac Miller to Dave Mirra. The Pittsburgh based customizer and artist’s lecture will take place on March 18th 7 to 9pm on the CMU campus in room MM14. This will be the first time the general public is open to view the lectures but will fill up fast being limited to 100 seats.
